The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently going to the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions into the community.
SASSA will be rendering companies such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency explained it is actually alarmed with regards to the large amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some substantial range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This can be due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office dedicated to service the area every day. The support place created for intervention experiences a large influx of opportunity beneficiaries, which makes it difficult with the Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more methods to help the servicing of SRD all customers and maximize usage of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
